Committee Members

Professor Philippe Wilson 

Professor Philippe Wilson is a Professor of One Health at Nottingham Trent University and Chief Scientific Officer for NHS Willows Health. His research considers the interplay between biological processes and data in the development of new medical and industrial devices and technologies. Previously, Prof. Wilson served in academic positions at De Montfort University in Leicester before becoming Scientific Director and Head of Conservation at the Rare Breeds Survival Trust in 2020. He moved to Nottingham Trent University in 2021.
 
In 2018, he was named by Forbes Magazine in their 30 under 30 Listing for Science and Healthcare. In 2019, he was awarded the Joseph Black Medal from the Royal Society of Chemistry and named in the IUPAC listing of the top 100 young chemists globally. In the Analytical Scientist Magazine’s 2021 Power List, he was named as one of the top 100 analytical scientists globally.
 
Prof. Wilson sits on the UK Genetics of Livestock and Equines Expert Advisory Committee at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as well as the Committee on Toxicity at the Food Standards Agency and UK Health Security Agency within UK Government. He is an elected member of the Comparative Medicine Council of the Royal Society of Medicine. Previously, Prof. Wilson served as Chairman of the Royal Society of Biology East Midlands Branch from 2018-2023.
 
He is a Fellow of The Linnean Society of London, The Royal Society of Biology and The Royal Society of Medicine.”
