Nature’s SAFE is a living tissue biobank, preserving live cells from animals threatened with extinction. In a time of declining biodiversity, Nature’s SAFE aims to provide an insurance policy for the world’s most threatened wildlife. We collaborate with the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria to safeguard live reproductive cells and cell lines collected after neutering or from deceased individuals of threatened animal species. If needed in the future, these cells can be brought out of storage, and with endangered species breeding programmes, be used to assist in sustainable repopulation in the event of extinction. We endeavour to prevent extinction and protect biodiversity for generations to come.

Job Title: Fundraising and Marketing Officer
Hours: 6-month Fixed Term/Part Time Contract (20-hour week) working remotely
Salary: £27,000 (pro rata to a 40-hour week)
Holidays: 25 days (pro rata) plus 8 Statutory Bank Holidays (pro rata)
Reporting to: Charity Chair and Board of Trustees
This is an exciting new role for an outstanding fundraiser to join our team to deliver financial income from individuals, grants and trusts, and corporate fundraising objectives.
Fundraising Strategy: With the Board of Trustees, develop and initiate the delivery of a fundraising strategy to optimise the delivery of the charity’s mission.
Funding and Financial management: To increase the charity’s income base from public and private sector donations and deliver effective and accurate financial reporting to the charity’s Treasurer.
Individual and Corporate Partnerships: Work with all levels including high value donors, corporates and public fundraising audiences to grow individual and corporate giving impact.
Grants and Trusts Opportunities: Develop and initiate plans to grow and maintain grant, trust and foundation opportunities for the charity.
Relationship Development: To build strong positive relationships with all external donors through effective communication and clear delivery of charity’s targets and impact.
Marketing and Charity Promotion: To ensure the charity’s mission/objectives and fundraising activities are disseminated to key stakeholders to build on the reputation of the Nature’s SAFE as a charity, which delivers significant conservation outcomes.
The successful candidate will:
Be passionate about wildlife conservation.
Proven fundraising experience with successful financial outcomes.
High level of numeracy, able to report against key performance indicators and financial targets.
Display the ability to establish credibility, elicit respect and influence at all levels.
Be able to present information clearly and concisely in verbal and written communications, including to media and stakeholders at all levels.
Have a proven ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
Have a background experience of working within a conservation-based setting.
Knowledge of charity law, charity tax, gift aid and VAT.
Experience with implementing and evaluating marketing campaigns, using digital and traditional media and other tools.
