About Tristan
Born in South Africa and raised with a deep love of the wild, Tristan Phipps has dedicated his life to connecting people with nature and protecting it. From an early age he was driven by a passion for conservation, and after finishing school he pursued that calling with full commitment. He spent over six months living deep in the African bush while training as a walking big game trails guide, ultimately qualifying as a registered walking safari guide. Over the following four years, Tristan lived and worked across Southern Africa, leading multi day expeditions on foot and immersing himself in wildlife, wilderness, and the rhythms of the natural world.
That formative period in the bush did not just shape his career, it shaped his purpose. Tristan believes that anyone, no matter their background or where they live, can be a conservationist. After joining the cast of Made in Chelsea, he used the platform to share his photography, his passion for the outdoors, and importantly, to speak out about conservation issues, from habitat loss to the protection of endangered species.
Today, Tristan splits his time between the UK and South Africa, remaining deeply involved in conservation work both on the ground and in the media. He collaborates closely with leading charities including TUSK and The Born Free Foundation, raising funds and awareness through endurance challenges and public advocacy. Across his social media channels and his presenting work, from wildlife storytelling in South Africa to features on BBC and ITV in the UK, he aims to reconnect people with nature, inspire curiosity, and encourage a stronger sense of responsibility for the planet. His mission is to help create a new generation of nature lovers and active conservation supporters.
