A significant step in the fight against extinction has been reached by two UK conservation organisations following the preservation of genetic material from the 400th species in Nature's SAFE's wildlife biobank.
We are collaborating with Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) and Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park to investigate whether a rare butterfly, the British Swallowtail, could be reared from frozen eggs in an effort to safeguard the future of the species.
A 40-year-old Southern white rhino who passed away in 2021 contributes to the conservation and care of her species, long after her death.
Our new partnership with The Deep—an education and conservation charity with a public aquarium in Hull, East Yorkshire - will help us preserve more marine and freshwater species.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary operates a comprehensive facility for the care and rehabilitation of owls and raptors around Suffolk, and promotes their conservation throughout the UK and beyond. This partnership will further their impact by helping to prevent the extinction of owl and raptor species.
For the first time ever in Europe, coral eggs were successfully fertilised using frozen and thawed coral sperm.
